Atten Ash ne précise pas la couleur du sablier qui fait l'objet de son premier album : à mon avis, il doit être bleu parce que The Hourglass fait remonter le temps. Le trio américain rend un hommage plus qu'évident au death/doom metal mélodique des années 90. Bien que vigoureux ("See You...Never"), les riffs n'en sont pas moins émouvant, flirtant parfois avec une atmosphère funéraire ("Song for the Dead", "First Day") sans jamais tomber dans le pathos facile. Canadian Death / Doom. There are a few Post-Metal elements here as well to add into the mix. This is an extremely interesting album! I love the vocals too, especially the French / Québécois ones... :) So good I have now bought it twice! No faves & highly recommended! bmurator
