Chris I was introduced to the band via facebook a few weeks ago. Rob Hammer wrote, that the band is awesome, so without thinking twice and without listening more than some seconds, I was on bandcamp, buying their two records, because I blindly trust his taste.

Today, I finally had the time to check out this record, and I wasn't disappointed at all, more like totally blown away by the heaviness, the melodies, which are astonishing and beautiful. I am looking forward hearing the new record so bad!!! Favorite track: Peplum.

T G Mind-shattering, destructive, and yet melodic instrumental Post-Rock/Sludge from Switzerland. A beautiful apocalypse that gets better with every listen. Far too short, I want more! Favorite track: Peplum.

Disillusioned by the mere existence of the human race, ØLTEN produces a basic instrumental post-rock sludge that wouldn’t put off the happy fellows of bands such as Cult of Luna, Neurosis, Bongripper, Russian Circles or Sunn o))). But let’s stop comparing here. ØLTEN, although they’ve only been playing for a year, relies on its musicians’ experience to achieve its singular and heavy style, which could be described as a successful mix of oppression and daydreaming sequences.

Par rapport au monstrueux A Dawn to Fear, The Raging River est un album qui paraît presque raisonnable. Sauf qu’il est dans la continuité de Cult of Luna, c’est-à-dire pas raisonnable du tout.
