DID YOU STOP TAKING PILLS LIKE YOU SAID YOU WOULD
DO YOU THINK THE WORLD LIKE A PAINTER
WHEN YOU CROSS THE LINE DO YOU YELL OR FALL
REALIZING YOU CAN’T TURN BACKWARDS
TURN BACKWARDS
IN YOUR CASE SOME BRUSHES YOU DIDN’T BRING
ENOUGH GREY TO PAINT SUCH PALOR
SHARP FOCUS ON TOWERS IN THE BACKGROUND
SEND A KISS THERE FOR YOUR DAUGHTERS
YOUR DAUGHTERS
WILL YOU DRAW THE BEACHES
LOVERS ON THE SAND
WITH THE STRANGEST COLOURS
WOULD THE WORLD FEEL REAL
HUMANS BIDE THEIR TIME IN THE CORRIDOR
THEY ALL SEEM TO GRIN AND BEAR IT
BUT TO SET A SMILE ON THEIR FACES
YOU WOULD RATHER USE OIL THAN WATER
THAN WATER
DID YOU STOP TAKING PILLS LIKE YOU SAID YOU WOULD
DO YOU THINK THE WORLD LIKE A PAINTER
WHEN YOU CROSS THE LINE DO YOU YELL OR FALL
REALIZING YOU CAN’T TURN BACKWARDS
TURN BACKWARDS
IN YOUR CASE SOME BRUSHES YOU DIDN’T BRING
ENOUGH GREY TO PAINT SUCH PALOR
SHARP FOCUS ON TOWERS IN THE BACKGROUND
SEND A KISS THERE FOR YOUR DAUGHTERS
YOUR DAUGHTERS
YOU DREW THE BEACHES
LOVERS ON THE SAND
SUCH A HAPPY ENDING
WHERE THE WORLD FEELS REAL
One of the most beautiful collections of songs I've ever heard, the same feeling I got when I first heard Elliot Smith's self titled. Every single song close to perfection. LukeSpurs
Opener absolutely rips. Falls into the ranks of tracks like “Dance” by ESG, “Eisbaer” by Grauzone, “Damaged Goods” by Gang of Four or like the album description says Kleenex. This is some really good stuff. Favorite song is the opener but dedicate “Blue” to my friend Blue who lost her life at 22, she would have loved this album. TheBloodofChrist
Cacophonous mash of noise, electronic sounds and vocals powered by energetic walls of drums. Listen loud, jump often. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 28, 2014
Portland shoegaze that plays, as the best representatives of the genre do, with huge, hollow atmosphere against intimate observations. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 23, 2016
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
